Following on from the INSET training on Monday 16th April, I have been trying to replace my old objectives with just a list of words. This has had some interesting immediate impact that might be of interest to other teams.
1) One student copied the words down and wrote definitions as an independent task. This KS3 student doesn't always seem engaged in a task that requires writing, but these words clearly made him think.
2) Pupils used the words in parts of discussion during the lesson.
3) It has inspired me to try to add a non-subject specific or tier 2 word in to encourage pupils to be more sophisticated in how they express their ideas.
